Engineering Group participates in OW2 Conference as an international leader in Open Source

Engineering Group addresses key topics including big data, software quality, open source cloud computing and market innovation.

Paris (France), 27th November 2012 – Engineering Group plays a leading role in OW2 Conference, the annual event organized by one of the most important global open source software communities, of which Engineering Group is co-founding member. This three-day international event opens today in Paris, welcoming experts and decision makers coming from more than 50 countries.

Engineering Group participates in different sessions of the Conference through various talks that cover key concepts of innovation:

  • Open Source Software for Big Data management, through a dedicated talk by Monica Franceschini – SpagoBI Architect – entitled “SpagoBI and Big Data: next Open Source Information Management suite”
  • Quality management in software development, through a speech by Daniele Gagliardi – Spago4Q Architect – entitled “An open source infrastructure supporting the development and quality assessment of software products and projects at Engineering Group”
  • The realization of an open source project for the Minister of State for Administrative reform (OMSAR) of the Republic of Lebanon, in collaboration with the Lebanese partner Levantnet, presented by Gianfranco Boccalon – Spagic project leader
  • The results of VENUS-C and ETICS European research Cloud Computing projects, presented by Andrea Manieri and Gabriele Giammatteo.

The third day of the Conference will open with the keynote speech by Ali Attaya, Head of the e-Government Unit at the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform of the Republic of Lebanon. The speech focuses on open source technologies supporting innovation and improving relations between the Lebanese Administration and citizens.
